About Me

My photo
Gareth R. White
I've been a professional video games programmer since 1998, including working in London for 2 years, South Australia for 2, and at Rockstar in Vienna for 3 years. Most notably I have worked on Grand Theft Auto: III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Manhunt 2. I have also completed with distinction an MA in New Media at the University of the West of England, Bristol. My MA thesis was called "Embodied Evil: The Aesthetics of Embodiment in Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition", a phenomenological analysis of embodiment. I have recently completed a 12 month contract as a Research Fellow at the University of Sussex, and am now a PhD researcher in video game user experience.
